Perseids Results(2004)

In 2004, Esko Lyytinen et al. predicted a possibility of outburst around 20:54 on 11th (UT). As a result, worldwide radio meteor observation caught the unusual activity around 22h on 11th (UT).
On the other hand, the annual peak around λo140°.1 was same as annual years.

Activity Level (using worldwide data)

Observed Peaks

Time(UT) Solar Long. Activity Level
Aug.11 22h 139°.499 2.53 ± 0.39
Aug.12 13h 140°.104 1.83 ± 0.65

Estimated Compornents of Perseid activity

Comp.No. Peak Time(UT) Solar Long. A(max) FWHM(hr)
PER04C01 Aug.11 22h30m 139°.499 2.0 -2.0/+3.5
PER04C02 Aug.12 13h00m 140°.104 1.5 -12.0/+14.0

Parameter

  • Radiant : α = 46°.2, δ = +57°.4
  • Radian Elevation : 20° < h
  • Using data within ± 0.75 σ in all observed data.
